Writing
I started creative writing in 2010, by enrolling on an online creative writing course run by writingclasses.co.uk I found the fact that I was set "homework" every week was a great spur and the feedback I received from both my peers and the wonderful tutors, was invaluable. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. A short piece of work which I produced during that time can be read on their website. It is entitled "Home Time".
Since 2010, I have also been attending Deeside Writers, a friendly and supportive group of people who write. The group meets monthly near Banchory. New members are always welcome.

Short story books
To date, I have written quite a number of short stories. One of these, "The Paper Bag" has been published in "Pushing out the Boat", a magazine of northeast writing. You can read my story online here (it is on page 50 of the online version of Issue 10 of the magazine). It is also possible to order a hard copy online of the magazine (all issues, the current one is number 13, in which there is also a reproduction of one of my paintings) from the "Pushing out the Boat" website. It is also available to purchase from a number of local bookshops and coffee shops in and around Aberdeen.
